The Line and the Signs
or
Be Careful When the Road is the County Line
This is typical county line in Virginia. Traveling east you leave King and
Queen County and enter Essex County. Route 360 is the county line between Essex and King and
Queen Counties for a distance of about one mile. The county line follows Route 621 to
Route 360 on the west end and then leaves Route 360 on the north side and follows a small
road near Route 360 for a short distance. The line then crosses Route 360 at route 707 near
Miller's Tavern on the east end. The county line signs are on the east end of this stretch
just west of the Miller's Tavern Post Office.
From the Geological Survey Maps it appears that the Southbound lanes of Route 360 run along the
county line. The Northbound lanes along this stretch are in King And Queen County.
